Build your own electric harp!

Experience the joy of building and customizing your own electric harp. Whether you love DIY projects or want to create a unique instrument, this DIY electric harp kit offers a fun and rewarding way to bond with your Harp·E.

Choose it:

Available in Natural, Black Wash, Mahogany, and White Wash. Perfect for those who enjoy assembly but prefer not to handle the coating. Each harp comes pre-coated with Monocoat 2k Oil for a smooth, ready-to-build surface.

Customize it:

You can add your own decals, designs, and/or etchings. Feeling really creative? You can add your own color layer with minimal risk—as long as they’re compatible with our oil finish, simply avoid the levers.

Even more adventurous? Some pioneers have taken customization further with left-handed assembly, double stringing with mirrored kits, or custom electronics. The sky’s the limit!

Build it:

All assembly tools are included. For quicker assembly, you can use basic household tools like an electric screwdriver with 3mm and 4mm hex bits.

For full enjoyment of your instrument, we recommend the Harp·E Accessory Bundle, which includes:

  • Carrying bag: Securely fits the harp and stand, includes spacious front pocket.
  • Strap and buckles: For wearing your harp in the traditional upright position or the delta/guitar position.

Is this the right package for you?

This package is ideal for the DIY enthusiast. If this is not you, we recommend the String & Go package - skip the assembly and go straight to stringing at no extra cost! Don’t have the patience to assemble or string? The Plug & Play might be a better fit for you. Are you an experienced woodworker who wants to make the harp from scratch? Check out our Uncoated DIY package.

• DIY Coated or Uncoated without case: ±2-4 weeks

On our finishes

Our finishes intentionally leave a slightly rough texture to prioritize lower costs over a delicate high-gloss appearance.

The natural wood grain is visible through the coating and we absolutely love it that way. If you prefer an alternative finish, you can add it yourself.

Make your unique electric harp

I really like the diy aspect of this set. You can customize the harp the way you want and end up with an very unique looking harp.
The video guides on YouTube helped me very well with assembling the harp. It does take some time from the unassembled kit to the finished harp, but this made the moment, once it was finished, even more satisfying for me! Now I have a beautiful and unique harp-e and it is my first own harp and I am very happy with it!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for our DIY kit! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed assembly and were able to create a unique harp that you love. And of course congratulations on your first harp! It's always a special feeling to have something you made. We appreciate your support and hope you continue to enjoy your beautiful Harp·E!

Great for travelling

I bought Harp-E because I travel a lot. Classic harps are big, fragile and relatively heavy. Harp-E weights less than 5 kg and is rather robust. It fits in a large suitcase if necessary.
Since it is a electro acoustics harp its rather quiet which is perfect for playing in hotel rooms even after midnight.
The DIY set is easily assembled. Stringing takes a bit of practice to begin with.

Thank you for your great review Sonja! These are all some of the many reasons why we made Harp·E - being harpists ourselves we know the struggle with wanting to travel with your harp but never being able to. We wish you only the best in your Harp·E travel adventures!

DIY Harp e thoughts

Once my diy Harp e arrived I soon got to staining the wood. After 3 or 4 coats of Danish wood oil I was ready to assemble the Harp. With the help of instructions and the assembly video, I completed the job in a day. My advice is to take your time and watch the video a few times to get a better idea of how to proceed.
The following day I did the stringing. I found this to be fairly hard work (I am getting old), but completed the the job with only a few problems. One of the high strings broke but there was enough string left to try again and it was ok. After tuning twice a day for about 2 or 3 weeks the harp maintained its pitch and I managed to regulate the levers.
I am very pleased with the Harp and I'm getting to know it now by practising most days.

Thank you for your review David! We are happy to hear that you are pleased with your Harp·E and found assembly to be relatively quick.

Nice harp !

I bought this harp a few months ago, in the DIY kit form. Customizing and building my own harp was such a great experience ! The harp looks really good, I love its lines and design. Its very light weight and small size makes it the perfect instrument for globe trotters ! The sound is very nice too, the only down side I find is some problems with buzzing noises with some of the strings. I can't find out where it comes from !

Thank you for your great review Uriel! We agree that customization is so fun, and you did a fantastic job at it!

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing some buzzes, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service line support@harpeharp.zohodesk.eu for assistance in troubleshooting. We'll get them solved in no time!
