For the DIY enthusiasts - Assemble Harp-E, string it and regulate it yourself.
Assembly can take between 25 minutes and a few hours, depending on your skill level, whether you've done it before and whether you have an electric screwdriver at hand. Stringing takes ± 1-2 hours. Tuning until stable takes a few minutes each time, once or twice a day for ± 8-12 days.
Not only a fun DIY activity, this is a really great way to get to know and bond with your instrument AND it's an opportunity to customise your instrument!
PS although not needed, the process is more comfortable and fast if you have (a friend with) some basic tools like an electric screwdriver + bits (3 and 4mm hex).
And.. a bit of DIY enthusiasm and flair does help a lot (both you and us). If you're only choosing this option to save money then you might want to consider the String & Go package - it's still very affordable and you fast-forward straight to the stringing part.
NOTE: String & Go is BLACK is currently OUT OF STOCK - you can either choose Natural Wood instead, or order a Black one and we will build one to order for you, this will take a few weeks extra.
This package includes:
- Harp·E with its stand, strings, electronics
- Carrying bag / backpack and the detacheable strap to play standing
- Battery for the electronic pre-amplifier
- Strap to wear the Harp·E
- Assembly and tuning tools
- Assembly and usage manuals (via QR)
(does not include external electronics like cable and effect pedals)
We ship cheaply across most of Europe (NL, BE, LU, DE, FR, IT, ES, PT, SE, DK, IE, AT, HU, RO, BG, HR, SI, SK, EE, LT, PL, GR).
For the EU all your local taxes are included in the price. You'll receive a tracking number once the order is dispatched and it'll arrive a few days after that.
Still somewhat aligned with the EU, the process as above with one addition: VAT will be deducted at checkout - so the price you pay will be 20% lower than displayed here. Once at UK customs, you will receive an email from the courier to pay the outstanding VAT balance plus a small admin charge (currently £5). Once paid, customs will release your package and it will arrive in the following days (you'll get updates & options).
The US does not have VAT, but in some cases, in some states, some import duty might be added. This would be a small percentage and the courier (usually this is FedEx) will arrange this for you with your local customs.
Rest of the World:
We do ship worldwide. If your country is not an option at checkout yet, no problem - please get in touch by email and we'll arrange that for you.
Generally the process is the same as US shipping outlined above, but the customs and tax regimes vary greatly per country. However, the shipping company will simply send you a payment link for any duty outstanding and arraneg everything on your behalf.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
It really depends on where you live and what package you order:
EU shipping is very fast, usually a matter of days (for DIY and String & Go).
Shipping outside the EU can at the moment take several weeks, because intercontinental shipping is still in a bit of a pickle - there are old backlogs and new staff shortages across shipping companies, carriers and customs clearance.
We beg you for a bit of patience until things settle. Your Harp·E will arrive!
DIY and String & Go are stocked to ship immediately. Please note that Plug & Play packages are built to order. We are a small team and they are in high demand, we currently have several weeks backlog before we can start building yours. But we are working around the clock and you will get your Harp·E!
All parts and shipments are checked for quality and completeness and should reach you in good condition. We will aim to make right any shortcomings you might spot on arrival and help with any questions you might have.
The aim of this project is to be able to provide affordable quality harps to as many people as possible. We do ask you therefore to take a lenient and collaborative approach to returns and customer service as they significantly drive up costs for us and will reduce our capacity to keep the price down for future generations harpists.
We cannot offer warranty on parts damaged during the DIY assembly process.
Plug & Play packages are built to order and it will take around 2 weeks before we can ship them. If you want a Harp·E sooner, you could order a DIY or String & Go package, which are in stock and ready for immediate shipping.
The DIY package is great for customisations. Please note however we cannot provide warranty for parts damaged during the DIY assembly process at home. If you're not sure about your DIY skills, we'd recommend the String & Go package. A safer option at similar price.
NOTE: The finish is fairly rough and the wood texture is visible through the coating (Blue Dolphin 2K Oil), we like it that way, but you can add a high-gloss finish yourself.

I think of myself as a DIY person, but this was beyond my comfort level. The videos were excellent, but it turns out that power tools are necessary. After two weeks of tuning every day, it still wouldn't hold a tune, and then a string broke. I never fixed the string, so have never actually played it. It sounds beautiful, though, when I run fingers over the strings. I should have bought the fully strung version, if any.
Thank you very much for your review! We're so happy to hear you found the videos useful and love the unique Harp-E sound, but are sorry you found aspects of the build difficult.
Stringing your own instrument is rewarding but can be challenging, so a member of our team will be reaching out to ensure we can further support your build!
I am so happy I got this harp. It was really easy to put together and once I hooked it up to the amp, I was blown away by the sound! I also got really good at tying stings (bonus skill!!!)
Thanks for your review Johanna. Happy to hear you like your Harp-E!
